Heritage is important to strengthening cultural identity, pride in one’s past and an ethic of stewardship. Empowerment of cultural identity and pride in one’s past as experienced by many older residents and descendants of Bahamian communities can be effectively reiterated and preserved through the documentation of community heritage.
